Compare & Contrast

The way i chose to recreate this piece by  Giovanni Francesco Barbieri bka Guercino II, I am trying to give an update to the piece and the myth it visually depicts. I want to bring more of imagination for the viewer to focus on. I changed all of the  colors in my piece to contrast the original . I  used the same lay out of space and spheres. I did change the color layout to add more fantasy to the subject matter. This creates a sense of curvature as the lines and shapes follow the contours of the cloth.I added different environment colors to show a celestial scene. I also added a Gaea to the middle of the sphere. The including of Gaea to the sphere, creates a sense of emphasis to Atlas and his situation and gives the composition a more detail layout to its subject matter.
